| this is a follow up to an old post [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2276930/Has-anyone-used-Grundy-Insurance.html ] I was slacking on this for a while...but i really wanted a stated value policy on my Z since i only drive the car in the summer and even then not so much...and more importantly, i've read some horror stories about Z'ers trying to fight the insurance companies for $ after getting in a wreck...
recently Bryan (TTFairladyZ) told me he got a stated value on his Z through State Farm (i didn't even know they did these kind of policies)...so i tried calling his agent to see what they could do for me...i could have asked for a higher number, but i said $15,000 to see what would happen...i don't have a lot of expensive power mods so i asked for a fair number at what i thought i would want for the car in case something happened...Bryan told me they haggled him a bit and gave a number much lower than he asked for, so i went with $15,000 thinking i would show them receipts if they refused that i sent them a bunch of pictures of my car--exterior, interior, engine bay, etc (the lady even complimented me on the pics, haha)...and i just found out that my car was approved for $15,000...my premium is just $96 every 6 months...coverage is $50k/$100k for bodily and property...deductible is $500...there really is no mileage requirement, but at this rate, i'll drive my car MAYBE only 2,000 miles a year anyways...i have a pretty clean driving record the last few years and i'm 27 years old...obviously i'm thinking i should have asked for $20,000 coverage, but at the time $15,000 seemed reasonable...i'm not upset about $15,000 at all though...it puts me a little at ease knowing i'd get at least that much in case anything happened to my car...if i do anymore mods, i would def go back and ask them to raise that anyways, this is just an FYI for anyone else who might be wanting to do this
